Fire
I still don’t have enough knowledge over the whole Australian bushfire crisis, I’ve been reading that it may be with malicious intent by some Aussies, probably for some monetary gain? and I usually don’t like to get involved in viral social media bandwagons such as this. It is sad to see the Australian wildlife disappear to a natural/un-natural disaster that is happening right now.
But this I know. I don’t think the “social media bandwagon” has given this much importance to the fires that destroyed the Amazonian rainforest months ago, the world has lost as much as it did. And all this donations, American celebrity PR endorsements and crowd funding that’s happening seems like a circus spree.
The world can come together and help with fighting fire and employing its best technology to aid in extinguishing and saving the wildlife, but one would think an agricultural and wildlife preserving country like Australia to have the monetary reserves to pull itself out of a nation wide crisis at a time like this, and even look to the previous commonwealth sovereignty Britain for help. I think we should practice egalitarian values on social media and hopefully in the world.
My intent is not to ridicule the fire that’s raging across the Australian continent. But I’m trying to bring to light the insincerity and vested interest of huge corporations, names and social media in gouging emotions and also your money. I also hate seeing crowd funding that immediately follows suit any national or personal calamity. Where is the money going anyway?
